American Ballet Theatre Advisory Board

In May 2006, The United States Congress officially acknowledged American Ballet Theatre as America’s National Ballet Company. With this honor, ABT is committed to taking a leadership role in dance training in the United States and has created the ABT National Training Curriculum. In formulating its National Training Curriculum, ABT assembled a medical advisory board to provide medical guidelines for the healthy and sound training of dancers.
The four components of the National Training Curriculum are as follows:
1. Teacher Training Programs
2. Medical Advisory Board
3. NYU Master’s Degree in ABT Ballet Pedagogy
4. Certification and Examination System
